Camp Objective

The objective of the camp is to provide a safe environment for children to have educational,

intercultural, and intracultural experiences in the outdoors. Elementary and junior high school students come from all over Japan to participate in a multi-day program in Okinawa, Japan. The program includes daily structured English lessons along with numerous outdoor activities (such as going to the beach, sea kayaking, and hiking) and social activities (such as cooking together, playing games, and having bonfires). Campers have the chance to meet and learn from international camp leaders and use English to communicate throughout their time at camp. The position is volunteer-based. 

Expenses covered by the program:

  • Accommodations, meals, and transportation during sessions

  • Entrance tickets and fees for participation in activities during sessions

 

Expenses NOT covered by the program:

  • Flight to and from Naha, Okinawa

  • Accommodations in Naha (recommendations can be provided) 

  • Visa 

  • Meals in Naha (with some exceptions )

  • Transportation in Naha (with some exceptions)

  • International insurance 

  • Allowance for daily purchases, souvenirs, and activities before/after camp

 

The camp will be from July 20th - August 6th. 

  1. Session 1: July 27th - July 31st (Higashison, Okinawa)

  2. Session 2: August 1st - August 6th (Yoron, Kagoshima)
