Open for 2024 Summer​

POSITION SUMMARY

We're looking for responsible, organized, and enthusiastic volunteer camp leaders in Okinawa, Japan. It is an unpaid position. Three camp sessions take place in the summer of 2024 (July and August). Food, accommodation, transportation, and activity fees during the camp sessions are covered. Please see here for more details about the 2024 camp. Camp leaders will help develop daily English lesson plans, participate in beach and outdoor activities, and always keep a lookout for the safety of all students. This is a round-the-clock commitment, so we're looking for applicants who are self-motivated and good leaders.

Required commitment: 

• Active participation in online pre-camp preparation (includes: paperwork, lesson planning, getting to know other camp leaders, and becoming familiar with the camp)

• Full engagement in Okinawa, Japan during the camp

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English

• Must be born on August 1st, 2004, or before

• Must be fully vaccinated

• Responsible, open-minded, self-motivated, and flexible to changing situations

• Ability to perform some physical tasks and participate in sports and water activities

• Background in Japanese language and culture preferred but not required

• Experience with teaching, summer camps, children and/or leadership preferred but not required

• Experiences with children

• CPR/AED certification is preferred but not required
